The journey begins

On the 25th I woke up very early and drove to Zurich Airport with my parents. I was really excited and I couldn't sit still. I had to wear my yellow STS shirt and my yellow STS backpack and once I was at the airport I saw many people who were wearing this aswell.
My flight was at 10:25 and at 11:20 I was there. Finally. No not in Athlone. In London Heathrow. I had a preparation camp in London until the 28 of august. The camp got organized by LSC (language study centres).
Lucy was the one who picked me and another exchange student up. We drove to the Royal National Hotel with the tube. There I met the other three students and Geoffrey.
We had a really great time and we became friends very quickly.
In the morning we had "lessons" where we talked about our expectations and our fears. It was really helpful and I think it let my fears disappear. After that we went to Museums like the National Museum, Science Museum and the British Museum. It was really interesting and exciting. Then we went sightseeing for a bit. We saw Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, London Dungeon and many more. I think the highlight for everyone was the London eye at night. London was extremely beautiful with all the lights and Big Ben was glowing aswell.

Now it's sunday and I'm on my way to Heathrow to fly to Ireland and finally meet my host family. I'm really really excited but also sad because now my new friends and I have to part ways. Everyone is going to different places in the United Kingdom and I'm the only one going to Ireland. But that's no problem because maby we can meet each other during holidays I think that would be incredible.
My flight, again with British Airways, is from 17:20 until 18:45 and my host family is going to pick me up at the airport and then bring me to my new home. I can't wait to meet them. How should I greet them? What should I talk about with them? How is the house and the town? How is the host family? Will find friends?
All these questions and more are in my head. I can't answer them right now but I'm confident that everything is going to be fine. I'm trying to think about NOW and not the future.
So now, please wish me luck for my year.
